bebe hat and socks

continental knitting

Saturday 1pm-2pm / April 28

This method of knitting has you holding your yarn in your left hand and picking it with your right. It's a great way to do colorwork and is considered, by some, to be much quicker. This class will demonstrate how the yarn is held along with hand movements to create the knit and purl stitch. With a little practice, the yarn will be flowing from your left hand!

*Materials: worsted weight yarn, #8 needles.

yoga socks

Yoga socks may be exactly what your yoga class has been missing! Knit from Misti Handpaint Cotton and Silk, this quick project are comfortable and exactly what you need for a stylish workout. We will work through the heel and foot in class so there is a bit of homework. They're quick and everyone will want a pair!

Learn to knit! This class is designed for students who have never knitted. Students will learn about the varying weights of yarns, fibers, needles and knitting tools. We will then learn to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, increase, decrease and, most importantly, how to fix mistakes! With all this knowledge, students will knit a hat!

*Materials: Worsted weight yarn, #7 or 8 circular (16") and dpns, stitch markers and darning needle.

linen market bag

advanced beginning knitting

For students who have completed Beginning Knitting or know the basics and want to advance their skills. Casting on, increasing, decreasing, short rows, kitchener stitch (grafting), knitting with 2 colors in one row and binding offf. Reading a pattern and importance of gauge will be discussed.

*Materials: "Drive-Thru" pattern by Wendy Bernard, worsted weight wool, appropriately sized needles and basic knitting tools.

magic loop

Have you been avoiding any projects requiring double pointed needles? Worrying that you will always be working on flat projects because you can't figure those dpns out? The magic loop technique was designed just for you!  Using one long circular needle, you can work those small diameter projects with ease. We will be working on a newborn baby hat to learn this helpful technique!

*Materials: #6, 7 or 8 circular needle (at least 32"), worsted weight yarn and knitting tools
